1Are there any prerequisites for taking TEFLOnline.com courses?
No, there are no prerequisites to sign up for any of the TEFLOnline.com courses. However, trainees must have sufficient English language ability.

The 40-hour Basic Certificate is perfect for someone who is not sure that TEFL is right for them and who just want to get his/her feet wet. It is an introductory course meant to be a first step into English Language Teaching.

5Is TEFLOnline.com written in American English or British English?
TEFLOnline.com is written in American English; however, any English speaker may take this course! The focus of the course is on how to teach English, and all dialects/spellings of English are recognized and accepted.



6Where can I teach with TEFLOnline.com certification?
TEFLOnline.com certifications are recognized and accepted worldwide, although requirements can vary depending on the employer. The regions where it is most widely accepted are Latin America and Asia. 7Will a TEFLOnline.com certificate allow me to teach in the United States?
No. Each state has its own requirements for becoming a certified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher, but generally TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) is an occupation that requires a minimum of a 4-year university degree, and more commonly a Master's degree in TESOL. TEFLOnline.com can serve as a supplemental certificate to someone who is already certified by state standards, but is looking for a refresher course.



8Does TEFLOnline.com offer a job placement service?
Yes. Please visit our web site BridgeTEFL Jobs.com where you can find both free and paid placement options. We require at least a 100-hour certificate to participate in our job placement service.



9Do I have to purchase any books? Are there any outside materials used?
No, you do not have to purchase any books or other outside material. Everything that you need to complete the course is online.



10How long does it take to complete TEFLOnline.com?
Depending on the program that you choose, and on your availability to work on the course, it could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to six months to complete. On average, trainees usually take between 6 to 8 weeks to complete the core curriculum.



11How much time is allotted to complete the course?
You have six months to complete the TEFLOnline.com courses. If you need more time to finish your course, you may purchase an extension. This may be done during your course, or up to a year after your course has expired.



12What happens if my course expires before I finish?
Don't worry! An extension may be purchased up to one year after your course has expired.



13Can I add other components to my course to upgrade my certificate?
Absolutely! You may upgrade your course at any time by clicking on the "Upgrade" button from inside your course.



14When can I start?
You may start immediately after enrolling online!



15How soon will my tutor give me feedback?
Your tutor will aim to send you feedback within 24 hours of submitting both of your written assignments on business days. Your tutor will only grade one module at a time; therefore, you should not move ahead in the course until you have received feedback from your tutor on each module.



16What happens if I fail?
If you fail a module, you have one chance to resubmit the written assignments for a passing grade. You may not resubmit the quizzes. If you do not succeed the second time, you will have the option of withdrawing from the course and receiving a prorated refund.



17How do I access the grammar module?
Grammar Advisor has a separate login page at www.GrammarAdvisor.com.



18How do I get access to my certificate once I finish my course?
You may access your certificate only after you have completed and passed all of the components of your course. You will be assigned a unique certificate code which may be entered into our secure Certificate Verification System. Here, you may download and print your certificate, as well as read a summary of each course component's content, and see the grade that you received for each component. 19Why is my certificate missing hours?
If your certificate is missing hours, you most likely have not completed all of your course components.



20Can I get a hard copy of my certificate?
Yes. Hard copies may be ordered from inside your course by clicking on the "Certificate Services" button, or by going to: https://www.teflonline.com/form/certificate.php. You may also order notarized and apostilled certificates.



21Does the certification expire?
No, your TEFL certificate does not expire. However, some employers may be wary of certificates that are not recent.
